We start with the service you choose. Stump grinding and full stump removal use different base rates and minimum service fees because full removal requires excavating the stump and root ball.
The stump's diameter is multiplied by the applicable per-inch rate. Larger stumps therefore produce a higher estimated cost.
Softwood uses the standard rate, while hardwood receives a higher multiplier to account for the additional work involved with denser wood.
Easy access uses the standard calculation. Difficult access increases the estimate because working in restricted or hard-to-reach areas can require additional effort.
The first stump is calculated at the full per-inch rate. Each additional stump receives a 50% discount on that per-inch portion of the calculation.
